Its a Whole New World, just like the song from Aladdin, so is Ivory Beach House, a dazzling, wonderful home like no other. The owners wanted a home that always made them feel as if they were on vacation, & that’s exact feeling you get on entering this unique property designed in collaboration with well-known architect, Ezzo Sadagic. Overlooking a stretch of protected indigenous reserve & the Indian Ocean, Ivory Beach House fits perfectly into its sub-tropical setting. Inside, everything was designed to compliment the exterior’s ecological typology – floors are seamless fresh white sand tones while ceilings are clad with washed timber lattes & hand-hewn beams.
This tropical treasure boasts its own personal pathway onto mostly people-less wide sandy beaches and the emerald green of the 5th Tee of the Southbroom Golf Course. A large self-contained two bedroom cottage floats in a leafy canopy with wrap-around decks looking across the indigenous garden, free-form pool and out to sea. The house is an entertainer’s dream, with fabulous open-plan spaces, both inside and out, which the owners use to full advantage when family & friends come to unwind and relax in this tranquil space. Three massive suites each have something to vaunt – a double-shower and large dressing-room in the main en-suite, private patios and decks and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day on the beach.
The home has been impeccably thought out, everything is original and custom-made, and the fixtures & furnishings have become articles of interest themselves… from the huge front stable-door to the hand-carved architraves, inlaid floors and very generous fireplaces in both the lounge area and main bedroom. This Indo-African masterpiece is in perfect harmony with its exceptional surroundings.
